Colombian pop sensation Shakira inspired a Barbie fanatic from her home country to design a special 'She Wolf' outfit for the plastic doll.


The Bogota Book Fair;



The Bogota book fair is the biggest in Latin America and draws thousands of thousands of literature lovers each year. Aside it being the perfect place to look for books; it's the perfect place to see people.

Bogota's Comparsas Parade: colourful, despite the rain;

Many of the groups involved in the parade kept their contributions to the spectacle simple and inexpensive, but used the materials they had in infinitely diverse, creative ways.

A year later, Ingrid Betancourt asks that world remember hostages
Bogota - Ingrid Bentancourt, the former Colombian presidential candidate who was rescued from leftist rebels exactly a year ago, asked Thursday that the world not forget the people who remain in captivity in the South American nation.
Betancourt was kidnapped by the leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in February 2002 and spent over six years in captivity before being rescued on July 2, 2008 by Operation Jaque, an undercover Colombia Army operation.
